It is often hard to generate mutual knowledge and then retain it within a business. More often than not, employees are not sharing their knowledge efficiently. This forces them to spend resources on recreating the already existing knowledge base over and over. In addition much knowledge is lost when an employee resigns.
The reason for all this is that it is troublesome and sometimes almost impossible to see though all of the different informational connections within an organization.
